Peter Oakes

Peter Oakes

Peter founded Fintech Cyprus.  He founded Fintech Ireland, Fintech UK  and Fintech Malta which are leveraged to help grow Fintech Cyprus with other like-minded fintech experts.  In 2019 Peter also established Fintech Malta.

Peter is a lawyer (admitted in UK, Ireland & Australia) and financial services expert working in banking, payments, emoney, insurance, investments, funds, MiFID, Fintech, Regtech & Distributed Ledger Technology industries. He is a non-executive director of a number of EU regulated Payments (TransferMate), E-Money (Optal) and MiFID firms (Susquehanna International & AWM Wealth Managers) and is board advisor to several Fintech & Regtech firms and strategic consultant to Irish operations of US law firm Clark Hill and UK operations of US law frim Armstrong Teasdale. He is founder of specialist regulatory firm CompliReg. Peter was appointed the inaugural Director of Enforcement & Financial Crime at the new Central Bank of Ireland.  He is a former regulator at the UK Financial Services Authority (now FCA), the Australian Securities Commission (now ASC) and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority.

Peter works with fintech firms seeking licences in Europe and mentors start-ups. 

And like others at Fintech Cyprus, Peter provides his time and resources for free for the benefit of Fintech Cyprus.

Stephen Fletcher

Stephen Fletcher

Stephen has over thirty years of Banking Tech/Payments/Fintech expertise.  As an experienced Tech and Operations leader, he has led many successful teams and business units across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Europe.

​With his knowledge of the entire global payment ecosystem, he provides pragmatic guidance related to financial services regulations, e-money, card issuance and acceptance, virtual banking, self service channels, mobile and e-commerce.  Stephen focuses on executive leadership, operational readiness, organisational maturity & global expansion planning.

Stephen is also Consultant at CompliReg (UK & Ireland) Stephen works with fintech firms seeking licences in Europe.

Gregory Dellas

Gregory Dellas

Gregory is the Chief Compliance and Innovation Officer at ECOMMBX, an Electronic Money Institution with a flexible FinTech platform for cross-border inter-bank transactions.

​Whilst at the Bank of Cyprus, Gregory led the anti-money laundering (AML) risk management team within the International Banking Services Division and acted as the local compliance officer. His team was responsible for the onboarding of high-risk clients, the evaluation of large and complex transactions, as well as the review of existing and approval of new high-risk client relationships. In addition, Gregory was responsible for providing advice, guidance and specialized training to management and staff on AML and regulatory compliance matters. ​

Gregory is CAMS, CGSS, CAMS (Advanced) - Risk and CAMS (Advanced) - Audit and CAFCA certified, a certified CAMS trainer, a GCI certified trainer, a Fellow of the International Compliance Association (ICA), a long-standing member of the Anti-Money Laundering Professionals (AMLP) Forum and a member of the International Governance and Compliance Association (IGCA).​

Advisory Committee

ADVISORY COMMITTEE: We will be creating an Advisory Committee to help further the work of Fintech Cyprus. People with appropriate skill and expertise will be invited to the Advisory Committee from a variety of backgrounds. 
Fintech Cyprus provides a unique platform within which Cypriot fintech companies and those with an interest in supporting Cypriot fintech companies and international fintech companies locating in Cyprus, including entrepreneurs and individuals can access networking opportunities with Cypriot and international fintech leaders, influencers and industry experts.

Founded in 2018 (but with roots going back for more than 5 years) we believe having access to innovative financial services and fintech solutions can empower people and organisations to understand, overview and improve their economic circumstances. The same view is shared by our Network of fintech followers, ambassadors and collaborators. The future is digitisation, financial innovation and financial inclusion. By getting involved with Fintech Cyprus you can be introduced to others in the Fintech Cyprus Network, Engage in the Fintech Network, Connect to other Fintech Hubs and Attract Fintech Talent.
